The Victim Assistance Coordinator (VAC) provides support and assistance to victims of crime in Leon County by providing information about the judicial processes, keeping them informed of court settings and case status, assisting with filling out paperwork and, court accompaniment. The VAC is the victim’s voice in and throughout the entire criminal justice system advocating for victims’ rights within the district attorney office and the courts. This position is mandated by Chapter 56 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and is a grant funded position. Position is part-time with a maximum of 29 hours a week with no benefits.
